GWYNEDD-MERCY DEFEATS FIELD HOCKEY IN CSAC PLAY

Gwynedd Valley, PA (October 4, 2008) – Gwynedd-Mercy College’s Casey Dellostretto scored two goals and added an assist in the Griffins 4-0 victory over Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play. Both teams were part of ‘Play 4 the Cure,’ an initiative to raise awareness and support for breast cancer research.

Junior goalkeeper Rachel Orlen recorded 22 saves in seventy minutes of play, while classmate Eryn Ziegler and freshman Emily Seifert each picked up a defensive save.

Cedar Crest falls to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in league play, while Gwynedd-Mercy improves to 5-6 overall and remains undefeated in the CSAC at 3-0.

The Falcons will travel to Union, NJ to face Kean University in non-league play for a 7:30 p.m. game at Alumni Stadium.
