CENTENARY LACROSSE USES BIG FIRST HALF TO DEFEAT CEDAR CREST IN LEAGUE PLAY

Allentown, PA (April 14, 2008) – Nicole Becker posted four goals and four assists to lead Centenary College to a 20-8 win over Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference lacrosse  action on Monday afternoon. 

Centenary went on an 8-0 run to open the contest before sophomore Mackenzie Lee took a pass from sophomore Amanda Dombroski at the 15:36 mark.  The Cyclones added four more goals before senior Danielle Skinner added an unassisted tally with 1:48 remaining in the half.  Becker added a goal for Centenary before sophomore Jesenia Holguin and Dombroski each posted a goal before the end of the first half.

The Cyclones tallied five unanswered goals to open the second half of play until Lee found the back of the net on a free position shot at the 12:26 mark.  Centenary added two more goals, while sophomore Brittany Symbol tallied three goals in the final four minutes of the contest.

Cedar Crest was led by Symbol, who notched three goals on the day. 

The Cyclones were led by Lauren Feldman who tallied a game-high five goals, while teammate Nicole Becker added four goals and four assists. 

Cedar Crest seniors Brianna Adam and Skinner were recognized in a pre-game senior day ceremony.

The Falcons fall to 1-11 overall (1-7 PAC) on the season, while Centenary improves to 6-3 (4-2 PAC).

Cedar Crest will host Lancaster Bible College on Thursday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. in a non-league matchup.
