MISERICORDIA TAKES TWO FROM CEDAR CREST IN SOFTBALL ACTION

Allentown, PA (April 11, 2008) – The Misericordia University softball team posted 24 hits on the day en route to two victories over Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Friday afternoon.   

The Cougars took a 5-0 win in game one, while also winning the nightcap with a 10-0 victory.   

Junior Allison Holland took the loss in game one, striking out six batters, allowing nine hits and five earned runs.  Holland = went 3 for 3 from the plate to lead the Falcons, while junior Sarah Campbell went 2 for 3.

Junior Alyssa Kabbat went all six innings for Cedar Crest in game two, striking out two batters, allowing 15 hits, and 10 earned runs.  Junior Tasha Breiner went 2 for 2 from the plate, while Holland and freshman Danielle Freeman each added one hit. 

The Falcons fall to 11-11 overall (6-6 PAC), while Misericordia improves to 17-7 (7-1 PAC) on the season. 

Cedar Crest will travel to Cabrini College on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. in conference action.
