MARYWOOD SOFTBALL EDGES CEDAR CREST IN TWO LEAGUE GAMES

Allentown, PA (April 18, 2008) – Junior  Allison Holland went 5-for-5 in the nightcap for Cedar Crest College, but it would not be enough as the Marywood University softball team took two games in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Friday afternoon.   

The Falcons dropped game one, 3-2, while also falling 11-7 in game two. 

Holland pitched all seven innings in game one, striking out eight, allowing four hits and walking just two batters.  Junior Alyssa Kabat went 1-for-1, while senior Mel Devlin went 1-for-2 with one run scored to lead the Falcons. 

Holland had an outstanding game in the nightcap, going 5-for-5, while also throwing for two innings and striking out five batters.  Junior Sarah Campbell went 2-for4 with two RBI’s, while freshman Amy Stumpff went 3-for-4 with two RBI. 

The Falcons fall to 12-14 overall (7-9 PAC), while Marywood improves to 16-14 overall (6-10 PAC). 

Cedar Crest will host Eastern University Saturday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. in a conference double-header.
