ALVERNIA TAKES TWO FROM CEDAR CREST IN SOFTBALL ACTION

Reading, PA (April 25, 2008) – Alvernia College took two games from Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference softball action on Friday afternoon at Campus Field. 

The Crusaders took game one, 4-1, while winning game two, 3-0. 

Junior Allison Holland threw both games for the Falcons, striking out eight batters, allowing seven hits and two earned runs in the opener.  She posted two strikeouts and allowed two earned runs in the nightcap.

Junior Alyssa Bonner went 2-for-4 to lead the Falcons in game one. 

Junior Sarah Campbell went 1-for-2 in the nightcap, while junior Alyssa Kabat and senior Mel Devlin went 1-for-3 from the plate. 

The Falcons fall to 13-19 overall and 7-13 in the PAC, while Alvernia improves to 28-9 overall and 14-4 in the PAC.    

Cedar Crest will travel to the University of Scranton on Saturday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. in a non-conference double-header.
