CEDAR CREST SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH SCRANTON IN FINAL GAME OF SEASON

Scranton, PA (April 26, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College softball team split their final games of the season with the University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon at Pacer Field in non-conference action. 

Scranton took game one, 12-4, while the Falcons won game two by a score of 2-1.

Junior Alyssa Kabat took the loss in game one, allowing 10 earned runs and 14 hits.  Senior Mel Devlin led the Falcons, going 2-for-3 from the plate with two RBI.  Sophomore Rachel Orlen added a 1-for-2 effort with one RBI.

Junior Allison Holland won her final game of the season in the nightcap, striking out nine batters, allowing eight hits and no earned runs.  Holland also went 2-for-2 from the plate and scored two runs.  Junior Sarah Campbell went 2-for-3 with two RBI. 

Cedar Crest ends the season with a 14-20 overall record, while Scranton improves to 26-9 overall.
