NEUMANN SOFTBALL ENDS FALCONS SIX-GAME WINNING STREAK
Aston, PA (March 28, 2008) – The Neumann College softball team ended Cedar Crest College’s six-game winning streak with a 2-1 and 10-1 victory Friday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action.
The Falcons fell 2-1 in game one, while dropping a 10-1 loss in game two.
Senior Allison Holland threw all 10 innings for the Falcons. In game one, she allowed four hits, walked three batters and struck out seven, while also going 1-3 from the plate and scoring the lone run for Cedar Crest. In game two, Holland struck out four batters, while walking three.
Senior Mel Devlin went 1-2 with one RBI, while junior Tasha Breiner went 1-3 to lead Cedar Crest in game one.
In game two, junior Alyssa Bonner went 2-2 to lead the Falcons. Juniors Alyssa Kabat and Sarah Campbell and freshman Amy Stumpff each tallied one hit for Cedar Crest.
The Falcons fall to 8-7 overall, while Neumann College improves to 11-5 on the season.
Cedar Crest will travel to University Scranton on Tuesday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. in non-conference action.
