HOLLAND STRIKES OUT 20 IN WINS OVER ROSEMONT
Allentown, PA (April 4, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College softball team earned its fourth win in a row with two victories over Rosemont College on Friday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action.
The Falcons earned a 19-0 win in game one and defeated the Ramblers, 12-0 in game two.
Junior Alison Holland threw both games for Cedar Crest, striking out 20, allowing four hits and walking no batters on the day.
In game one, junior Amanda Boehm led the Falcons going, 2-2, while knocking in three runs. Junior Alyssa Kabat went 2-2 and sophomore Maria Mallery posted one hit and added a game-high six RBI. Holland added her first homerun of the season and three RBI.
Senior Mel Devlin and Kabat led Cedar Crest in game two, each going 2-2 with two RBI. Junior Alyssa Bonner added one hit and three RBI, while Mallery added two hits and two RBI.
The Falcons improve to 12-7 overall (6-2 PAC), while Rosemont College falls to 0-13 (0-8 PAC) on the season.
Cedar Crest will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy College on Wednesday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m. in conference action.
