SOCCER PICKED TO FINISH NINTH IN CSAC COACHES’ POLL
Aston, PA (August 27, 2008) – Centenary College’s Women’s Soccer team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll. The 2007 conference runner-up received four of eleven possible first-place votes for a total of 107 points, finishing ahead of Marywood University.
New to the conference in 2007, the Cyclones are looking to mimic the strong showing of last season.
Marywood University earned a total of 103 points for a close second place finish. Cabrini College was selected third with 97 points.
Gwynedd-Mercy College (78), Baptist Bible College (74), Philadelphia Biblical University (70), Immaculata University (67), Neumann College (57), Cedar Crest (27), Keystone College (25), and the College of Notre Dame (21) rounded out the voting.
The 2008 CSAC Championship begins with quarterfinal action on Monday, November 3rd. The CSAC Championship Game is set for Saturday, November 8th at the highest remaining seed.
The Falcons will open their 2008 campaign at the Bryn Mawr College Tournament on Saturday, August 30th at 11:00 a.m.
