TENNIS PICKED TO FINISH THIRD IN CSAC COACHES’ POLL

Aston, PA (August 29, 2008) – Cabrini College’s Women’s Tennis team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll. The 2007 conference champion Cavaliers received seven of eleven possible first place votes, earning 117 points and a first place finish over Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Gwynedd-Mercy College earned a total of 103 points for a strong second place showing. Cedar Crest College rounded out the top three with 98 points.

Neumann College (80), Marywood University (74) and College of Notre Dame (71) finished in the top six. Immaculata University (48) and Rosemont College (48) tied for seventh. Keystone College (37), Philadelphia Biblical University (28) and Baptist Bible College (22) rounded out the voting.

The 2008 CSAC Team Championship will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 18th & 19th at The Healthplex in Springfield, Pa.

The CSAC Individual Championship will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 24th & 25th at West End Racquet Club in Allentown, Pa.

The tennis team will open the 2008 campaign at Eastern University on Saturday, August 30th at 1:00 p.m.
