MESSNER NAMED CEDAR CREST ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Allentown, PA (September 8, 2008) – Junior Sara Messner (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita HS) was named the Cedar Crest College Athlete of the Week for her outstanding play in the week ending September 7.

Messner is currently 3-0 in singles action and 2-1 in doubles play on the season.  She posted a big win over Lindsey Leh of Eastern University, 2-6, 6-4, and 10-8. 

She also notched a win over Misericordia’s Courtney Otto, 6-4, 6-4 in No. 4 singles action.  Messner then posted a 5-7, 6-2, 10-1 win over Rachel Steinberg of Chestnut Hill College to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Cedar Crest is currently 1-2 overall on the season.

The Falcons will host Arcadia University on Monday, September 8th at 4:00 p.m.
