CROSS COUNTRY PICKED TO FINISH FOURTH IN CSAC COACHES’ POLL
Aston, PA (August 25, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College women’s cross country team was picked to finish fourth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll released on Monday.
Marywood University’s Women’s cross country team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll. The 2007 conference champion received five of ten possible first-place votes for a total of 86 points, finishing ahead of Gwynedd-Mercy College by a tiebreaker.
The Pacers have won the last five conference championships, and were the runner up in 2002.
Gwynedd-Mercy College also earned a total of 86 points but received fewer first place votes to finish second. Cabrini College was selected third with 72 points.
Cedar Crest College (60), Keystone College (59), and Baptist Bible College (49) rounded out the top 6. Centenary College and Philadelphia Biblical University tied for seventh with 39 points. Immaculata University (37) and Neumann College (23) rounded out the voting.
The 2008 CSAC Championship Race will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in Allentown, Pa.
The cross country team, which finished fourth in the PAC last season, will travel to Kings College to compete in the Northeast Pennsylvania Cross Country Classic on Friday, August 29 at 5:15 p.m.
