CROSS COUNTRY POSTS 12th PLACE FINISH AT BELMONT CLASSIC

Philadelphia, PA (September 27, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College women’s cross country team finished in 12th place overall with a total of 343 points at the annual Belmont Classic hosted by Cabrini College on Fairmount Park’s Belmont Plateau 5K course.

Ursinius College won the race with a total of 65 points, while Philadelphia University finished in a close second with 66 points.  Catholic University claimed third with 81 points, Delaware Valley College took fourth with 98, and Felician College finished fifth with 121 points.  Nyack College finished sixth with 184 points, while York College took seventh with 209 points.  Albright (264), Holy Family (291), University of the Sciences (326), and Cabrini College (336) rounded out the top 11 finishers. 

Junior Michelle Snead was the top finisher for the Falcons with a 71st place finish in a time of 23:56.  Sophomore Kristen Geisinger notched an 84th place finish in a time of 24:27. 

The cross country team will head to Goldy-Beacom College to compete in the Goldy-Beacom Fall Classic on Saturday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m.
