Applying for Financial Aid

Cedar Crest CampusSTEP 1
Obtain your federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) on-line at www.pin.ed.gov.  You and your parent, if you are a dependent student,  each must apply for a federal PIN.  The PIN will be used to electronically sign your on-line Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) as well as other federal program information requiring an electronic signature.

STEP 2
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  The Cedar Crest College Federal School Code is 003243.

STEP 3
Submit the FAFSA on-line between January 1 and May 1 so that you will be considered for all available aid.  Most importantly, it allows sufficient time for us to process your application and to give you timely notification of our financial aid offer.

STEP 4       
Respond to all requests from the College‚Äôs Student Financial Service Office for additional documentation. The Department of Education may select your FAFSA Application for verification.  Verification is a process whererby the college must verify that the data you reported on the FAFSA is consistent with what was reported on your income tax return.  If your processed FAFSA application is selected for the verification process you will be required to submit: 

STEP 5      
Receive and review your Financial Aid Award.  Evaluate financing options (information is available through Student Financial Services about the federal parent PLUS loan program, private education loan opportunities and interest-free tuition payment plan options).  You will have the opportunity to reduce, decline or accept any portion of your financial aid award.
