Customize Your Degree

At Cedar Crest, we encourage students to pursue another major or minor in addition to their primary major. In fact, our programs are designed to enable students to do this without taking on a strenuous course load. This flexible programming will enable you to graduate with a stronger resume and a degree that is uniquely suited to your chosen career path.

Students of all majors have added anthropology as a minor. It is an especially viable choice for students majoring in business, communication or psychology.

Some Common Combinations

Global Studies Major and Anthropology Minor
These disciplines truly complement each other by providing greater insight into the foundation of a country’s political, economical and cultural existence. Not only will you develop a strong knowledge of the global connection between these factors, but you will know the path each civilization took to arrive at that connection. These studies will help you understand conflicts and global situations from multiple cultural perspectives, giving you a unique and highly academic view of the world. This is especially helpful for students interested in working for a foreign organization or in a career in archeology or journalism.

Anthropology Minor and Religious Studies Minor
For students with a deep interest in the history and evolution of religion within numerous societies, Cedar Crest offers the opportunity to combine the anthropology and religious studies minors with any major. By taking this combination of courses, you will understand how religion can influence a society’s cultural and political status. You will also develop a strong knowledge of the history of that civilization and how religion affected the country’s past and present traditions.
