READ The Crestiad

If you’ve ever wanted to cover a breaking news story, fine-tune your photography and design skills, or share your opinion on the latest entertainment news, this is your chance.

The Crestiad—Cedar Crest College’s award-
winning newspaper—is run exclusively by student writers and editors. Its primary goal is to keep students informed about the events and issues that touch the Cedar Crest community—and to provide students with an internship-quality media experience right on campus.

What do we mean by an “internship-quality” experience? The skills that our students develop at The Crestiad give them a competitive edge when it comes to finding a career in print or online journalism, graphic design, marketing and other related fields. Because communication and teamwork skills are top priorities for most employers, joining The Crestiad staff is a smart move for students of any major!

The Crestiad staff is responsible for:

  • Editorial content for news, lifestyles, opinion, features and athletics
  • Editing stories before print
  • Newspaper layout
  • Website updates and content
  • Advertising
  • Distribution
