Dual Major and Minor

Some Cedar Crest nursing students pursue a minor or double major. The most common double majors are nursing/psychology and nursing/art therapy. You may minor in virtually any subject; the most common choices are psychology, art therapy and business.

You can also expand your knowledge and employment opportunities by completing a certificate program in addition to your nursing degree. Cedar Crest offers certificates in:

  • Gerontology— A highly useful addition to a nursing degree for those interested in caring for the elderly. Older adults have greater health care needs and are a growing segment of the U.S. population. Click here for more information.
  • School Nurse— This 20-credit program requires that you be licensed as an RN and have one year of practice. Click here for more information.
  • Health Care Management— A program that combines online and on-site learning, this 18-credit certificate positions you for administrative leadership. Click here for more information.
  • Nursing students can also participate in the Honors Program.
