Hooding Ceremony

This event is exclusive to our graduate students only and provides a chance for our master’s and doctoral students to be hooded on-stage by their program directors, in addition to their participation in our general Commencement Ceremony.  Graduates earning post-bachelor and post-master’s certificates will also be recognized at the Hooding Ceremony.

The Hooding Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumnae Hall Auditorium. 

Graduate students are permitted to invite up to five (5) guests each. Faculty, and staff are also invited to attend this event.  A reception will immediately follow.

IMPORTANT:

• Graduates and faculty are expected to wear their academic regalia.  
• Graduate students completing master’s or doctoral degrees (not certificates) are invited to participate in BOTH the Hooding Ceremony and the College’s Commencement exercises.  
• All graduate students are welcome to wear their hood to Commencement, whether or not they attended the Hooding Ceremony.

Handicap accessible parking is available in all parking lots on campus on a first-come, first-served basis, and accessible seating is available in Alumnae Hall.  Guests should alert ushers upon entry that an accessible seat is needed.  If you or your guests require ADA accommodations besides parking and seating, please contact the Commencement Committee at commencement@cedarcrest.edu or 610-606-4612.
