Community Service

You can make a difference!

Since 1867, the women of Cedar Crest College have strived to improve the lives of those around them through education and service to community. Today, that tradition continues through a campus-wide commitment to community service. This commitment is so strong that the Corporation for National and Community Service has named Cedar Crest to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll each year since 2007. This is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement!  Last year, Cedar Crest students performed more than 17,000 hours of community service in the greater Lehigh Valley.

As a student at Cedar Crest, you will have a positive impact on the broader community starting on day one. You will work with your classmates during orientation at local non-profit organizations assisting in various projects. You can continue to make a difference throughout your college career through voluntary service opportunities, Alternative Spring Break and the College’s Ethical Life course. Through it all, you will experience the joy and satisfaction that you made an important contribution improving the world around you.
