The College’s fourth annual Master’s Hooding Ceremony allows our graduate students receiving master’s degrees to be hooded by their program directors in addition to participation in our traditional Commencement Ceremony. Students earning post-bachelor and post-master’s certificates are also recognized at this event.
A reception will immediately follow in Canova Commons. Graduates and their guests are invited to mingle with the faculty members who have had an impact on their education at Cedar Crest.
4:15 p.m. | Check-in begins outside Alumnae Hall (in case of rain, line-up will take place inside the Art Department hallway) |
4:15 – 4:45 p.m. | Once checked in, line up by academic degree on the sidewalk outside Alumnae Hall (see rain location above) |
4:30 p.m. | Auditorium doors open for guests |
4:55 p.m. | Procession moves into the Auditorium |
5:00 p.m. | Ceremony begins |
- Graduates should arrive ready to go in their gowns – NO caps. Business casual dress is suggested under your gown.
- Graduates will walk up onto the stage with their hood draped on their arm prior to being hooded.
- Graduate students completing master’s degrees are invited to participate in BOTH the Hooding and Commencement ceremonies.
- All graduate students are welcome to wear their hood to Commencement, whether they attended the Hooding Ceremony or not.
- Graduates completing post-bachelor or post-master’s certificates are invited to participate in the Hooding Ceremony ONLY.
- Graduates are permitted to bring up to five (5) guests each.
- Parking is available for guests in Lot C – see campus map.
