Job Title: Half-Time Spanish Faculty

Cedar Crest College invites qualified applicants to apply for a half-time faculty position in Spanish. The faculty member will contribute to a newly redesigned interdisciplinary Global Studies major, as well as a stand-alone Spanish minor. We seek a colleague who is prepared to teach courses in the history and culture of the Spanish-speaking world, especially Latin America. The ability to teach Spanish conversation and composition is desirable, as is an interest in developing and teaching courses bilingually. Not required, but a plus: a background in teaching introductory Spanish professional courses, such as Spanish for Health Professionals.

The majority of Cedar Crest’s students – nearly ninety percent – are women. More than one-third are students of color, and almost forty percent are first-generation college students; they are diverse in gender, sexuality, ability, and religion. This half-time position entails 12 credits of teaching per academic year (two, 3-credit courses per semester), including offering online and evening courses as needed in the program schedule. The faculty member will be responsible for academic advising of Spanish minors and Global Studies majors with Spanish concentrations, as well as supporting the work of the department to promote our programming to current and prospective students.

Job Title: Art Therapy - Adjunct Faculty

Cedar Crest College is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach a variety of courses in the traditional (face to face) and low-residency (online) programs for the upcoming Spring and Summer 2023 semesters.

School of Nursing Faculty Positions

Job Title: Doctorate of Nursing Practice - Nurse Anesthesia Program (CRNA)
Part Time Faculty

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for two part-time Nurse Anesthesia Faculty in the School of Nursing (SON) to assist with the routine operations of our Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in the Nurse Anesthesia Program. Our growing NAP program boasts excellent clinical sites at the region’s premier healthcare systems. A multimillion-dollar state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Center provides realistic practice settings such as critical-care patient rooms, a preoperative assessment room, and a functional operating room for student learning.

The selected candidates will help support the program in maintaining compliance with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia educational programs and guidelines. The faculty members will help provide classroom and online teaching, simulation clinical instruction, student advising and supervision of doctoral scholarly projects for our BSN-DNP NAP students. Other duties include:

  1. Develop and deliver instructional content for the education of nurse anesthesia students, during both the didactic and clinical (simulation) portions of assigned courses; maintain clinical practice. 
  2. Utilize evaluation tools and processes to assign grades to students for didactic course and for evaluation of satisfactory participation and performance on clinical simulation activities 
  3. Evaluate and assess current educational needs of students and participate in the revision of curriculum as needed in conjunction with Program Administrators for your assigned courses 
  4. Provide written formative and summative evaluations of each student’s didactic performance at the end of each semester and forward to the Program Administrators.
  5. Assist with the development of and participate in delivery of didactic material via interactive hybrid coursework for nurse anesthesia students at the CCC SON. 
  6. Maintain an open line of communication with the Program Administrators in matters concerning didactic progression of the anesthesia students. 
  7. Maintain open and timely communication with students.  
  8. Attend all required safety training programs and be able to describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals concerning students, faculty, visitors in the SON and the college at large.
  9. Ensure positive relations and interactions in the college.

These part-time roles also involve related duties such as college committee work, School of Nursing duties, and continuing professional development.

The successful candidates will have an earned doctorate degree and possess active certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with demonstrated skills in nurse anesthesia education and clinical practice. Qualified applicants must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience; graduate preparation in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to nurse anesthesia practice; and prior classroom teaching experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills as a member of the School of Nursing are essential. Job Title: Campus Visit and Events Coordinator

Cedar Crest College has an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual to serve as Admissions Campus Visit and Events coordinator for the Admissions department on campus .  The coordinator plans, develops, and manages on campus and virtual enrollment events, including registrations, confirmations, data entry and other related operations. The coordinator will also interact with and recruit prospective students and families, lead the creation and running of admissions events for overall enrollment, and assist with department data tracking and entry. Job Title: Graduate Assistant Positions (2) – NASA-Funded TOWERS Program

Two graduate assistant positions at Cedar Crest College are available for the 2023-2024 academic year to assist in the data collection for a NASA-funded research program titled “Tackling Obstacles for Women’s Engagement and Retention in STEM (TOWERS).” The graduate assistants will report to and work collaboratively with Dr. Lindsey Welch and Dr. Audrey Ettinger, who are the principal investigator and co-principal investigator, respectively, of this award. Graduate assistants will be tasked with designing and implementing surveys, collecting and organizing historical and ongoing institutional data, conducting research with focus groups of current students and alumnae, and leveraging social media to support the goals of this research. Candidates for this position should hold a bachelor’s degree, be enrolled as a current graduate student at Cedar Crest College or elsewhere, be self-motivated with the ability to work independently, and have strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with data analysis and/or social media is a plus, and candidates must be committed to careful management of confidential information. Each position will offer approximately 10 hours of work per week, with a cap at $2,000 for each term. Job Title: Network Administrator - Information Technology

Cedar Crest College is seeking a customer focused Network Administrator to maintain and monitor our technology infrastructure, including the wired network, wireless network, cloud-based applications, remote access systems, network applications, servers and disaster recovery.  This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and forecasting network, server performance, installing and maintaining applications, servers, distributing software upgrades, and operating system updates while ensuring the overall security of the technology infrastructure and prioritizing campus network reliability plus managing network related service tickets efficiently.

Job Title: Payroll  Specialist

Cedar Crest College is seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused, individual to join our high-performing Human Resources team. The Payroll  Specialist is responsible for processing the College’s payroll, ensuring payroll is completed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations, and managing payroll records in accordance with document retention policies.  Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will provide the strategic vision, planning, and coordination of payroll processes and systems to manage complex challenges. The payroll specialist will provide direction and management of daily workflows for multiple payroll cycles (includes time and attendance tracking and payroll compliance).  As well as process bi-weekly, student, and monthly payrolls utilizing the ADP payroll system. The Specialist works collaboratively with the HR team on projects and in supporting the campus community.

An associate degree in an applicable discipline (human resources, accounting, finance) is required; bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Payroll certification preferred. Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. Job Title: Events Coordinator

Cedar Crest College has an exciting opportunity for a customer focused, organized individual to serve as Events Coordinator in our busy Conferences Services department. The Coordinator maintains the reservation system for meetings, special events and conferences scheduled in the Tompkins College Center, Alumnae Hall and other non-academic facilities, and coordinates arrangements for all services needed to prepare for meetings, events and conferences and verifies timely completion. The Events Coordinator also maintains files in the ID card system and applicable reservation systems and assists with the planning and oversight of camps and housing on campus during the summer. The Events Coordinator also assists with the contracting, invoicing, and billing for external clients, in addition to assisting with the planning, execution and management of the Mayfair Festival of the Arts.

Cedar Crest College Cedar Crest College is seeking a Director of Annual Giving to oversee all annual giving campaigns and build strategic plans to steward the annual giving programs.  Reporting to the VP for Institutional Advancement, the successful candidate will cultivate, motivate and recognize giving through direct mail, online, phone, personal contact, and event attendance. The Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC) at Cedar Crest College is seeking a qualified full time aquatic specialist to instruct aquatic fitness classes, assist athletes, teach swim lessons, maintain lifeguard schedules, and assist with general office functions.  This position will develop, organize and instruct water based fitness programs and swim lessons, schedule and provide direction to instructors and otherwise assist in assuring the overall safety of the Center.

Job Title: Professional Tutor – Mathematics
Part time

Cedar Crest College is seeking a part-time tutor for mathematics. Reporting to the Director of Academic Services and Student Success and operating in the Student Success Center, the Professional Tutor for mathematics provides individual and group tutoring services for students enrolled in courses or programs requiring competency in math. The Professional Tutor also provides tutoring for students preparing for standardized tests such as the TEAS or PAPA exams. The Professional Tutor assists students in accessing other academic resources, and collaborates with faculty and staff to provide other supports such as workshops and exam preparation sessions. Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC), located on the campus of Cedar Crest College, is seeking qualified Swim Instructors and Lifeguards to join our busy center on a part time basis.  RAC is dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness by providing educational opportunities to the campus and the larger community, alone and in cooperation with other organizations that enhance the development of the mind, body and spirit through a large offering of instruction and fitness classes. These part-time positions are flexible, between 10 – 25 hours per week.

Swim Instructors: Part-time hours weekdays between 4 pm to 7 pm.  Paid training is available for instructors if currently certified in lifeguarding OR have trained on a swim team.  Experienced swim instructors with a proven history in swimming instruction are also encouraged to apply.

Cedar Crest College has an excellent opportunity for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team! The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week. Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education.

  • Full-time Officer: Night shift (Midnight – 8 AM)

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferred. Act 235 certification is required.
