Business, Management and Economics
Department Chair

Cedar Crest College is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual to chair the Department of Business, Management, and Economics and provide leadership for the growth of two major strategic initiatives: an undergraduate cooperative education program for the Business major and a recently launched Master’s in Business Administration program.  Reporting directly to the Provost, the Chair will be a proven leader and strategic thinker who will provide outstanding oversight and stewardship for the administrative, financial, and academic program components, and who will collaboratively develop a vision for the continued growth of the department.  This is a 12-month academic appointment beginning in January 2019, with an 18 credit teaching load per academic year. 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: (a) an earned doctorate or other ACBSP recognized doctoral degree in a business discipline from an accredited institution with a specialty in one of the teaching areas represented within the department, (b) a distinguished record of teaching and scholarship, (c) administrative experience in an academic unit, (d) excellent interpersonal and communication skills, (e) budget management skills, and (f) a demonstrated commitment to the educational and cultural needs of a diverse population.

Assistant Professor
Accounting and Finance

Cedar Crest College invites applications for the position of a non-tenure tracked position in Business, Management and Economics beginning in the Spring 2019 semester.
The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Teaching 4 courses or the equivalent of 12 credits per semester, both face-to-face and online at the undergraduate and master’s level
  • Advising students
  • Supporting curriculum and schedule changes in preparation for accreditation
  • Being actively engaged in service to the department and college, including attending all department meetings and all campus wide faculty meetings/workshops
  • Supporting the department at recruiting events
  • Maintaining a presence on campus during the day for students and at campus wide events; Maintaining office hours on campus at a minimum of 4 hours’ weekly, including one evening per week
  • Building relationships with the business community to foster student opportunities in the accounting and finance area with oversight of the accounting and investment clubs and post-bac CPA certificate
  • Other business department needs that are of priority during the academic year

Candidates should hold a terminal degree or ABD in Accounting, Finance or a Business discipline, preferably from an ACBSP accredited school, with at least five years of professional experience in the field.  Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills are essential, as are exceptional interpersonal skills and effective time management.  Prior experience teaching at the college level, along with program and curriculum planning is strongly preferred.

Business Program
Adjunct Faculty

Applications are invited for adjunct faculty to teach evening, weekend, and online undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following business subjects:  Human Resources, Health Care Management, Operations/Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Marketing.  Candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence while being student focused and integrate current events and technology into the learning environment.  Faculty are required to hold office hours, one hour for each class meeting.

Minimum qualifications: MBA or other relevant master’s degree required; Doctorate in business or related discipline preferred.  Five years of business experience and teaching or training experience also required.

Administrative Assistant
Registrar’s Office

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, customer focused Administrative Assistant to provide operational support the Registrar’s office. The Assistant is responsible for coordinating all office functions, assisting students, faculty and staff, scheduling of classes and classrooms, maintaining accurate student information files, and coordinating records according to regulatory, ethical and procedural guidelines.  The Assistant also responds to requests for transcripts, verifies transfer student data, inputs data into applicable systems, and communicates with students, faculty and staff regarding changes or issues.  In addition, the Assistant works collaboratively with others on campus to address and resolve issues or concerns.

Associate’s degree in an applicable discipline preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.  Prior experience working in higher education required, preferably in a customer focused role. The successful Assistant must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated success with multi-tasking and successfully handling interruptions and unexpected events are essential.   The selected candidate will be proficient with applicable computer systems and software (knowledge of Jenzabar preferred).

Director of Global Initiatives and International Programs

Cedar Crest College seeks a motivated and collaborative individual to lead the College’s internationalization by developing, implementing, and managing student study-away (in-country and international) opportunities and related academic initiatives. The Director will lead the College’s Sophomore Expedition, a signature institutional program in which all traditional sophomores may study abroad for a week as part of a global-learning seminar, at no additional cost other than their passport. The Director will also work closely with faculty and staff in the development and implementation of study-away opportunities related to academic programs, courses, and living-learning communities, as well as create global partnerships and build relationships with colleges and universities abroad to foster faculty and student scholarly and study-away exchange programs.

A master’s degree is required as a minimum credential, along with at least four years of study abroad, international, or related international programming experience. The successful candidate will have a record of successful study-abroad program planning and risk-management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal sensitively and effectively with students from multiple cultures. In addition, candidates must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and administrative staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with strong organizational skills. Candidates must also have knowledge of academic, personal, and other adjustment issues for students and faculty studying and living in foreign cultures.  Some travel, evening, and weekend work is required in this role.

Advancement Data Administrator

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a technologically savvy professional to join our active development team.   The Administrator accurately maintains the departmental database and coordinates day to day database operations, including oversight of constituent assignments, gift and pledge processing, report maintenance and production and data analysis to maximize advancement initiatives. The Administrator also prepares analytical and financial reports, exports data from other sources and develops queries and corresponding documentation.  The Administrator works collaboratively within the college and provides supervision to the Gift Processing and Budget Coordinator. 

A Bachelor’s degree and proficiency with applicable technology and database management, including Access is required; proficiency with Jenzabar preferred. Familiarity with fundraising platforms beneficial. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively as well as strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.  The selected candidate should be a detail oriented, strategic, innovative thinker with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills along with a positive attitude, and a desire to work in a goal – oriented environment.  A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team is critical to success.  Availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.

Learning Resource Center Technician  

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Technician to assist in our Learning Resource Center for our nursing program.  Our Learning Resource Center is one of the best-equipped in the region, with three state-of-the-art multimedia labs, highly specialized simulation manikins, a community health lab that replicates a home environment and two simulation centers with streaming video.  The LRC Technician will facilitate student and faculty usage of the nursing labs and simulation center and assist with the daily operations, including preparation and maintenance of facilities and equipment.  The Technician will also assist with technologies and resources housed in and/or utilized within the program. 

The successful candidate will have an Associate’s degree in an applicable discipline and proficiency with using technology and systems.  Demonstrated success with multi tasking in an active and changing environment is essential.  Exceptional communication and customer relations skills as well as effective organizational, time management and planning skills are necessary for success!  Strong interpersonal, team building, and relationship building skills, particularly with diverse populations required.

Assistant Director of Multicultural Recruitment and Community Outreach

Cedar Crest College is seeking an experienced admissions professional to lead the College’s multicultural recruitment initiatives to increase the number of students from diverse and underrepresented populations.  The Assistant Director will have an assigned territory and serve in all phases of the admissions and student recruitment process, effectively promoting the College and managing student inquiries.  The Assistant Director participates in admissions events on campus, serves as an participating member of the admissions team and represents the College at college fairs and events. 

A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience in recruitment and admissions required, preferably in a small, private institution. LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.
