Occupational Therapy Faculty
Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC)

Cedar Crest College is currently accepting applications for an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) in our developing Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program. As a founding member of the OTD program, the AFWC is in a unique position to design fieldwork experiences that develop occupational therapy leaders committed to clinical excellence, scientifically informed practice, advocacy for occupational justice and positive social change, and serving the health and occupational needs of diverse and underrepresented populations. 

The AFWC is responsible for the coordination, management and compliance of the Level I and Level II fieldwork experiences required by ACOTE standards.  In addition, the AFWC ensures the quality and integrity of the fieldwork experience and creates a fieldwork program that meets ACOTE standards, manages faculty, staff, student and community relationships to support the fieldwork experience and works collaboratively with the OTD Program Director to advance the program.  This is a full time, 12 month, core faculty position. 

Requirements:  Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, NBCOT certification, and at least two years of clinical experience in OT required.  Experience in an academic setting and as a fieldwork educator preferred as is knowledge of OT curriculum and accreditation processes.  Candidates must also have an active licensure in Pennsylvania or be license-eligible. Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are essential in addition to strong organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to triage and set priorities and effective utilization of current technologies required.  The ability to independently travel to various locations on and off campus on behalf of the College also required.

School of Nursing Faculty Positions

Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing Programs

The School of Nursing at Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for a qualified nursing professional committed to educating nurses in our graduate nursing programs including the DNP, BSN-DNP, MSN, and PMCs. Specialty tracks include: Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator, and Nurse Practitioner tracks (Adult Gerontology, Acute Care NP, and Family NP). The Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing Programs will work collaboratively with and report to the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs. This is a full time, 12 month, tenure track position with the option of an accelerated path to tenure with prior academic experience. 

Our DNP program is a practice-focused doctoral program in nursing that prepares expert nurse clinicians for the highest level of practice to improve health outcomes for individuals and populations.   Our nursing program has a long tradition of excellence in nursing education and the creation of the School of Nursing has allowed us to expand our educational offerings and opportunities for qualified faculty. The School of Nursing has grown to include a doctor of nursing practice degree (DNP) with three areas of specialty:  family nursing, acute adult/gerontology and nurse anesthesiology.

Requirements:  The Assistant Director must be a terminally-degreed advanced practice registered nurse.  Prior experience directing/leading DNP projects in addition to experience in a clinical setting and with teaching in a master’s or doctoral program also essential.

CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER
Full-Time and Part-Time Positions

Cedar Crest College has an excellent opportunity for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team!  The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week.  Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education. 

  • Full-time Officer: Night shift (Midnight – 8 AM)
  • Part-time Officers: Must be available for any shift 

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferred.  Act 235 certification is required. The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to campus community interaction and safety education.   Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.  Hourly rate is $16.00.

Part-Time Dispatcher/Switchboard Operator
Campus Police

Cedar Crest College seeks energetic and dependable individuals to serve as Campus Switchboard Operator/Dispatcher.  Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated ability to function well in stressful situations, and knowledge of phone, radio and alarm systems. Prior campus police/law enforcement dispatch experience is strongly preferred.
Duties include answering and redirecting calls, monitoring the radio and surveillance systems, monitoring alarm systems, dispatching officers, contacting appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintaining confidentiality and other duties as directed. A background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation are all required.

Digital Content Specialist
Marketing and Communications

Cedar Crest College is seeking an energetic, organized, full-time Digital Content Specialist to join its Marketing and Communications team.  The Digital Content Specialist works collaboratively to elevate and enhance Cedar Crest’s institutional personality among internal and external audiences by assisting in developing, designing and deploying creative and engaging content across all digital channels. Particular emphasis is placed on supporting the College’s website, social media outlets and email marketing efforts. The Specialist also assists with media relations, news releases, events, photographs, video and other media as needed.  The Specialist independently travels to various locations, on and off campus, to fulfill College needs and occasionally works evenings and weekends as necessary.   

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, journalism or other related field required.  The successful candidate will have experience with web content editing, copy editing, web and social media platforms and analytics, and be familiar with multimedia storytelling.  Experience working within a CRM, including creating segmented messages for different audiences, and knowledge and understanding of content marketing and SEO preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal and customer relations skills required. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated success meeting deadlines and successfully handling interruptions and unexpected events are essential. Candidates must be proficient with applicable computer systems and software, including Adobe Creative Suite. A valid driver’s license is required.

Alumnae Engagement Coordinator

Cedar Crest College is seeking an energetic, organized, individual to coordinate alumnae relations, plan and execute alumnae events, including reunions and alumnae auction, as well as manage the social media presence for alumnae and support the overall mission and activities of the office and the College.  The Coordinator organizes and executes a year-long calendar of alumnae events and communication initiatives in addition to making fundraising visits and completing stewardship activities. The Coordinator must be available to travel to attend alumnae events and able to work evenings and weekends as necessary. 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, a strong commitment to the goals of a women’s liberal arts education, and prior experience in event planning and supervision of others.  Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills are also required, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service across diverse constituent groups. Proficiency with applicable software including Microsoft office, photo editing and donor database systems required, as is proficiency with using social media as a communication and marketing tool.

Director of Residence Life and Community Standards

Cedar Crest College has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, student affairs professional to serve as Director of Residence Life and Community Standards.  The Director of Residence Life and Community Standards position is responsible for the overall operation of residence life and housing programs, including supervision and leadership of residence life staff, developing and maintaining learning outcomes for residence life and for ensuring appropriate coverage within residence life.  The Director is also responsible for ensuring best practices in community standards, leading the student conduct system including mentoring and training staff and serving as primary student conduct hearing officer.  Serving as a member of the Care Team to provide assistance to students aimed at retention and persistence, the Director collaborates with dean of students, health and counseling services, campus police, facilities, academic services and student financial services to positively impact the student experience. The Director is expected to work occasional evenings and weekends in order to assure proper coverage and response within residence life and the campus community.

Master’s degree in higher education or related field required.  At least three (3) years of experience in within residence life, including supervision and mentorship responsibilities, along with developing programming, training and evaluating student learning through residential curriculum.  Proven experience handling student conduct issues through to resolution strongly preferred.  Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills are critical to success.  Qualified candidates will have experience providing excellent customer service and a demonstrated record of creativity and innovation in a dynamic, changing environment.    Excellent communication, team building, and interpersonal skills along with a proven capacity for working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are also necessary for success. Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills are also required, as is a commitment to confidentiality. Familiarity with student conduct software (preferably Maxient) a plus.

Groundskeeper/Mechanic
Full Time

Cedar Crest College has an excellent opportunity for an experienced groundskeeper/mechanic to be responsible for the upkeep, care and maintenance of the grounds on campus property throughout the year.  The groundskeeper/mechanic maintains an accessible, safe and aesthetically pleasing campus exterior, including landscape, hardscape, athletic fields and our nationally recognized campus arboretum.   The groundskeeper/mechanic also performs corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles, as well as minor repairs.  The groundskeeper/mechanic is considered “essential personnel” and is required to provide various duties and maintenance services during and outside normal working hours and during institution closures; and duties associated with emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled events.

Requirements include at least three years of experience in the landscape profession, including prior experience in equipment and vehicle repairs and maintenance.  A high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid PA driver’s license and proficiency in specialized power equipment essential.   Familiarity with reading and understanding basic drawings, is also essential.  Current Pesticide Applicator’s License preferred.  Candidates must have demonstrated effective customer service, teamwork, time management and organizational skills.  Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, tolerate exposure to outside weather conditions on a daily basis, climb ladders and scaffolding and work up to 50 feet off the ground.

Assistant Manager of Building and Programs
Rodale Aquatic Center at Cedar Crest College

The Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC) at Cedar Crest College is seeking a qualified full time Assistant Manager of Building and Programs to supervise, direct, and manage all point of sale of operations, assure appropriate staffing and training, assist with physical plant operations, and assist with planning and scheduling RAC programming and events.  The Assistant manages and leads swim training programs, leads and assists instructors in swim school and fitness classes, teaches swim lessons and assists with the overall operation of the Center. The Assistant Manager also assesses the physical facility and acts on repairs, maintenance and sanitation in a timely, efficient manner for the safety of the Center.  The Assistant Manager also serves as a resource for the Cedar Crest College Swim and Dive team!   

A Bachelor’s degree in related field (aquatics, recreation, sports management, etc.) and prior experience in aquatic facility operations, programming or supervision required.  CPR, AED, First Aid and lifeguard certifications are also required. Prior experience in an aquatic facility with swim and fitness classes or experience as a swim instructor preferred.  Exceptional time management, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.  Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team required.  Qualified candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends while the Center is operational.

Part Time Lifeguards

Cedar Crest College’s unique Rodale Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM 
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.

The Rodale Aquatic Center is seeking qualified swim school instructors and certified fitness instructors who will also serve as lifeguards. These positions will organize and instruct water based fitness programs and otherwise assist in assuring the overall safety of the Center. CPR, AED, Lifeguard, and First Aid certification required. Current certification in aquatic exercise or other fitness/aquatic based or personal training strongly preferred.
