Creative Arts Therapies in the Treatment of Addictions

Cedar Crest College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to instruct the graduate course, Creative Arts Therapies in the Treatment of Addictions for the Summer 2019 semester.  The class meets 6 Saturdays or may be a combination of online and in-person, or as a hybrid course. The Undergraduate and Graduate Art Therapy Programs provide a studio model of education based in a humanistic/existential approach to art therapy.  

Applicant requirements include a Master of Arts (or equivalent), ATR-BC credential preferred, and a minimum of three years professional experience. Prior experience teaching at the college level is strongly preferred.

Business Program
Adjunct Faculty

Applications are invited for adjunct faculty to teach evening, weekend, and online undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following business subjects:  Human Resources, Health Care Management, Operations/Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Marketing.  Candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence while being student focused and integrate current events and technology into the learning environment.  Faculty are required to hold office hours, one hour for each class meeting.

Minimum qualifications: MBA or other relevant master’s degree required; Doctorate in business or related discipline preferred.  Five years of business experience and teaching or training experience also required.

School of Nursing Faculty Positions

The newly established School of Nursing at Cedar Crest College is currently accepting applications for full-time, 9 month undergraduate and graduate faculty positions in the Nursing Department. Our nursing program has a long tradition of excellence in nursing education and the creation of the School of Nursing has allowed us to expand our educational offerings and opportunities for qualified faculty. Positions currently available will focus primarily on didactic and/or clinical instruction in a variety of specialties, including:

  • Pediatrics
  • Community/Public Health

An MSN is required; doctorate is preferred.   For nursing educators who prefer flexibility in scheduling, applications for adjunct faculty in all specialties are also being accepted.

Simulation Laboratory Center Manager

Cedar Crest College invites applications for an experienced professional to coordinate the daily operations of our $1.8 million renovated nursing lab!  Our Learning Resource Center is one of the best-equipped in the region, with three state-of-the-art multimedia labs, highly specialized simulation manikins, a community health lab that replicates a home environment and two simulation centers with streaming video.  The Simulation Center Manager provides oversight to the daily and ongoing operations of the School of Nursing (SON) laboratories and simulation center.  The Manager coordinates student and faculty scheduling and usage of the center, develops and implements protocols, promotes and markets the center, and operates and maintains simulation equipment for effective functioning of the center.  The Manager also generates data and reports required by accrediting bodies, provides supervision to simulation staff and works collaboratively with SON faculty and staff in supporting the School’s goals and objectives.   

A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline is required as is a minimum of five years’ experience in a simulation or lab environment and proficiency with using simulation technology and systems.  Demonstrated success with multi-tasking in an active and changing environment is essential.  Exceptional communication and customer relations skills as well as effective organizational, time management and planning skills are essential.  Strong interpersonal, team building, and relationship building skills, particularly with diverse populations required.  Simulation certification and experience in program development and marketing preferred.  A commitment to providing quality and effective nursing simulation education is also essential.

Office Coordinator
School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE)

Cedar Crest College is seeking a highly detail-oriented, energetic, customer-focused Office Coordinator to provide operational organization to our busy, high-volume admission office.  The Coordinator handles the day-to-day communication for the office, including processing and data entry of inquiries, preparing, producing and distributing informational materials, and scheduling appointments and assisting visitors with inquiries. The Coordinator assists with event planning, including scheduling, planning, promoting, responding to inquiries and tracking attendees. In addition, the Coordinator works collaboratively with others on campus to achieve departmental goals and enrollment.

A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.  Minimum of two years’ experience working in higher education or a high volume office required, preferably in admissions. The successful Coordinator must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated success with multi-tasking and successfully handling interruptions and unexpected events are essential.   The selected candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Office including mail merges and Excel, applicable computer systems and software (knowledge of student information systems and CRM preferred) and be available to work evenings and occasional weekends for campus events.

DEAN OF STUDENTS

Cedar Crest College welcomes applications from qualified candidates for a Dean of Students to provide leadership and oversight for student affairs activities of the College, specifically for a broad range of student development services including residence life, career planning, community service, counseling services, health services, student government and cultural and educational programming.  The Dean of Students reports to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Traditional Enrollment, collaboratively working to ensure the College is developing and promoting a deeply engaged traditional undergraduate experience that implements key components of the College’s Strategic Plan. This include a Student Employment Center, serving under resourced students and creating a vibrant campus community.  The Dean of Students supervises the following areas:  Residence Life and Community Standards, Career Development, Community Service, First and Second Year Experiences, and Health and Counseling Services. 

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in higher education or a related field, and have a minimum of five years’ experience at a senior level in student affairs (preferably at a small liberal arts college).  A thorough understanding of the intricacies and organizational management of student affairs is required, as is a proven track record of effectively leading teams in a diverse organization and demonstrated initiative in dealing with complex and sensitive issues, including retention and persistence. Qualified candidates must have experience working with culturally diverse populations, involvement as a leader within the campus community and demonstrated ability to plan strategically in dynamic, diverse and mission-driven college environment.    Excellent communication, team building, and interpersonal skills along with a proven capacity for working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment are also necessary for success. Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills are also required, as is a commitment to confidentiality.

Administrative Assistant
Full Time – 10 months
Business and Math

Cedar Crest College is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to coordinate the daily operations of our busy Business, Management and Economics and Math departments.  Responsibilities include supporting the department chairs, faculty and staff, serving as liaison between the departments and other administrative offices, and providing student services appropriate to the department function. The Assistant provides organization and support for compliance with accrediting bodies, maintains and updates files, schedules and coordinates testing, and collects and organizes data for Periodic Program Review. The Assistant also provides support for undergraduate and graduate programs and students.  This is a full time, benefit eligible, position for 10 months of the year.  

The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, customer relations and communication skills, as well as superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.  Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft office) and technology is required as is a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast paced, industrious environment with frequent interruptions. Prior experience compiling and organizing data and handling confidential information is strongly preferred.  Familiarity with an academic environment is preferred with a minimum associate’s degree in related field and three years’ experience in a similar setting.

LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.
