Cedar Crest College, founded in 1867, is an independent, liberal-arts college that emphasizes cross-disciplinary cooperation and excellence in teaching, research, and practice. Cedar Crest enrolls over 1500 students through our co-educational School for Adult and Graduate Education and our traditional programs for women.  The large majority of Cedar Crest’s students – nearly ninety percent – are women. Job Title: Occupational Therapy Faculty - Assistant or Associate Professor

The Occupational Therapy Doctorate program in the Health Sciences department at Cedar Crest College seeks applicants for a 12-month position beginning July 2022. The new faculty member will be welcomed by a team of progressive, clinically-focused, and student-centered educators. The Occupational Therapy program is fully committed to assembling a diverse faculty team with a global perspective, focused on creating an inclusive and transformative learning environment to prepare students for today and tomorrow’s healthcare challenges.

The new faculty member must have expertise in adult rehabilitation and physical dysfunction practice areas and be committed to developing creative, challenging, evidence-based, and occupation-centered active learning opportunities. Experience in research and supervising doctoral student activities, including capstone projects, is beneficial. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues, support an inter-professional, transformative learning environment, advise students, and participate in service activities to support the College, community, and profession. Qualified candidates will engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship. This faculty position provides for clinical release time, which allows the educator to maintain clinical competency in their practice area.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • teaching graduate courses in an entry-level occupational therapy doctorate program

Requirements: A doctorate (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc, DrPH, OTD), NBCOT certification, and at least two years of clinical experience in OT. Experience in an academic setting and knowledge of OT curriculum and accreditation process is preferred. Candidates must also have active licensure in Pennsylvania or be license-eligible. Job Title: Secondary Education (Gr. 7-12) - Student Teaching Supervisor

Spring 2022

Cedar Crest College is seeking a qualified adjunct for Spring 2022 to serve as Secondary Education Student Teaching Supervisor. The Secondary Education Student Teaching Supervisor provides supervision, support, and guidance to students in their classroom teaching experiences preservice teachers engaged in classroom experiences via student teaching. The supervisor will monitor student teaching contact hours, observe and evaluate student performance, and provide constructive feedback. Observations and evaluations are in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education teacher certification competencies for secondary education. The Supervisor will also communicate with school mentors/supervisors, the program director and the student on performance, progress and concerns in an effective and time manner.

Qualified candidates will have a Master’s degree in Education (or the equivalency) and at least five years of successful middle school and/or high school education teaching experience. Current and valid state teacher certification in secondary education or administration required, along with in depth knowledge of education standards for teaching and technology skills relevant to communication, supervision and evaluation. School of Nursing Faculty Positions

Job Title: Doctorate of Nursing Practice - Nurse Anesthesia Program (CRNA)
Part Time Faculty

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for part-time Nurse Anesthesia Faculty in the School of Nursing (SON) to assist with the routine operations of our Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in the Nurse Anesthesia Program. Our small NAP program boasts excellent clinical sites at the region’s premier healthcare systems. A multimillion dollar state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Center provides realistic practice settings such as critical-care patient rooms, a preoperative assessment room, and a functional operating room for student learning.

The selected candidate will help support the program in maintaining compliance with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia educational programs and guidelines. The faculty member will help provide classroom and online teaching, simulation clinical instruction, student advising and supervision of senior scholarly projects for our BSN-DNP NAP students. Other duties include:

1. Develop and deliver instructional content for the education of nurse anesthesia students, during both the didactic and clinical (simulation) portions of assigned courses; maintain clinical practice. 
2. Utilize evaluation tools and processes to assign grades to students for didactic course and for evaluation of satisfactory participation and performance on clinical simulation activities 
3. Evaluate and assess current educational needs of students and participate in the revision of curriculum as needed in conjunction with Program Administrators for your assigned courses 
4. Provide written formative and summative evaluations of each student’s didactic performance at the end of each semester and forward to the Program Administrators.
5. Assist with the development of and participate in delivery of didactic material via interactive hybrid coursework for nurse anesthesia students at the CCC SON. 
6. Maintain an open line of communication with the Program Administrator/ Assistant Program Director in matters concerning didactic progression of the anesthesia students 
7. Maintain open communication with students in their courses and respond in a timely manner.  
8. Attend all required safety training programs and be able to describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals concerning students, faculty, visitors in the SON and the college at large.
9. Ensures positive relations and interactions in the college.

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized individual to serve as Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is an integral member of the financial team. Job Title: Laboratory Manager - Biology and Chemistry

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Laboratory Manager to provide laboratory support services to our Biology and Chemistry Departments. The Lab Manager purchases chemical and biological supplies, interfaces with consultants to maintain instrumentation, instructs and assists students in the operation and care of equipment and maintains the departmental budget for supplies, service contracts and maintenance. The Manager also maintains safety information and policies for the departments, conducts annual training sessions to update faculty, staff, and students on current practices, and coordinates chemical waste disposal. The Lab Manager also serves as Department Safety and Chemical Hygiene Officer and is an integral member of the Campus Safety Committee. Additional responsibilities include microbiology media preparation, some laboratory solution preparation, maintenance of bacterial cultures, and supervision of Biology work study students.

Job Title: Advancement Services Administrator—Institutional Advancement

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, self-directed individual to serve as Advancement Services Administrator for our Institutional Advancement team. The Administrator accurately maintains the departmental database and coordinates day-to-day database operations for Advancement, including software and technology support and expertise for various integrated systems including Access, Excel, Jenzabar and Infomaker. The Administrator manages the oversight of demographic updates, constituent assignments, gift processing, pledge procedures, report production and data analysis. The Administrator works with the entire Advancement team including all functional areas from Alumnae Affairs to the Cedar Crest Fund, to leadership and planned giving, and to events in an effort to properly record gift agreements, pledge payment schedules, and other necessary data and information. The Administrator prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and documents on financial activities for the Advancement team as well as for audit purposes for the Finance team. Job Title: Gift Processing and Budget Coordinator - Institutional Advancement

Job Title: Director of Academic Services and Student Success

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Director of Academic Services and Student Success to provide leadership and guidance for the daily functions of the Student Success Center and the College’s academic services, including academic advising, international student services, and learning resources. The Director is responsible for the College’s advising programs and resources, including the Office of Academic Advising and the First Year Advising program, and works collaboratively with faculty and staff to promote academic success and student retention and persistence. The Director collaborates with other campus resources and offices in the enrollment and orientation process as well as the transition experiences for all students. The Associate Director is manages staff, plans and organizes admissions events, and contributes directly to the communications flow of the admissions process by using Salesforce data analytics to build relationships with prospective students, high school guidance counselors, teachers, and schools.  The Associate Director works collaboratively with campus partners, including faculty, staff, and athletics and as part of the total admissions and recruitment process.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field; at least three years’ proven leadership experience in admissions/enrollment management in higher education and proficiency with applicable technology, including CRM platforms, required. Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and problem solve effectively are critical to success. Strong presentation and communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional experience for prospective students and families across diverse constituent groups. Candidates must be committed to advancing the mission of Cedar Crest College. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Job Title: CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER
Full-Time and Part-Time Positions

Cedar Crest College has an excellent opportunity for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team! The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week. Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education.

  • Full-time Officer: Night shift (Midnight – 8 AM)
  • Part-time Officers: Must be available for any shift

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferred. Act 235 certification is required. The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to campus community interaction and safety education. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.
