Cedar Crest College, founded in 1867, is an independent, liberal-arts college that emphasizes cross-disciplinary cooperation and excellence in teaching, research, and practice. Cedar Crest enrolls over 1500 students through our co-educational School for Adult and Graduate Education and our traditional programs for women.  The large majority of Cedar Crest’s students – nearly ninety percent – are women. Job Title: Occupational Therapy Faculty - Assistant or Associate Professor

The Occupational Therapy Doctorate program in the Health Sciences department at Cedar Crest College seeks applicants for a 12-month position beginning July 2022. The new faculty member will be welcomed by a team of progressive, clinically-focused, and student-centered educators. The Occupational Therapy program is fully committed to assembling a diverse faculty team with a global perspective, focused on creating an inclusive and transformative learning environment to prepare students for today and tomorrow’s healthcare challenges.

The new faculty member must have expertise in adult rehabilitation and physical dysfunction practice areas and be committed to developing creative, challenging, evidence-based, and occupation-centered active learning opportunities. Experience in research and supervising doctoral student activities, including capstone projects, is beneficial. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues, support an inter-professional, transformative learning environment, advise students, and participate in service activities to support the College, community, and profession. Qualified candidates will engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship. This faculty position provides for clinical release time, which allows the educator to maintain clinical competency in their practice area.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • teaching graduate courses in an entry-level occupational therapy doctorate program
  • maintaining an active, collaborative research agenda, and
  • engaging in departmental, college, and professional service

Requirements: A doctorate (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc, DrPH, OTD), NBCOT certification, and at least two years of clinical experience in OT. Experience in an academic setting and knowledge of OT curriculum and accreditation process is preferred. Candidates must also have active licensure in Pennsylvania or be license-eligible. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential in addition to strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

School of Nursing Faculty Positions

Job Title: Nursing Faculty Community and Population Health Nursing

The School of Nursing at Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position to begin August 2021. The position will focus primarily on didactic and clinical instruction in community and population health nursing. The position also involves related duties such as college committee work, School of Nursing departmental duties, student recruitment and advisement, and continuing professional development. A multimillion dollar state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Center, including a community health lab, provides realistic practice settings and complements student learning.

The successful candidate will have an MSN (required), doctorate is preferred; and possess an unencumbered RN license in PA. Job Title: Assistant Director of Residential Education & Leadership

Cedar Crest College is seeking an energetic, higher education professional to join our residence life team. The Assistant Director of Residential Education and Leadership oversees a residential community of up to 539 students including the recruitment, selection, training and development of resident advisors, implementing and monitoring residential curriculum, coordinating student support and implements and monitors processes related to residence hall living. The Assistant Director supervises resident advisors and serves as an advisor to the Residence Hall Representative Association. The Assistant Director serves on committees that support student efforts to aid in retention and persistence, including assisting with the management of food insecurity related initiatives and serves as a hearing officer in student conduct cases. This is a 12-month live in position and includes on-call responsibilities.  The Assistant Director of Residential Education & Leadership reports to the Director of Residence Life & Community Standards.

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in higher education or related field with prior experience within residence life at the collegiate level. Demonstrated initiative and creativity in facilitating workshops and trainings. Job Title: Administrative Assistant- Registrar’s Office

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Administrative Assistant to provide support our busy Registrar’s office. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supervising and coordinating all tasks and functions within the office to assure a smooth running and customer focused experience. The Administrative Assistant assists students, faculty and staff in all areas of the office, including scheduling classroom events, coordinating Veterans benefits, managing the registration process, processing international student verification letters requests and supporting the Registrar in office tasks and procedures. The Assistant also provides support for compliance with accrediting bodies, serves as the liaison with other administrative offices, and supports departmental assessment activities.

Job Title: Manager of Grants and Foundations - Institutional Advancement

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, self-directed individual to serve as Manager of Grants and Foundations for our Institutional Advancement team. Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned professional to develop and grow the College’s funding through grants. The Manager is responsible for researching, identifying, developing, writing and submitting grant proposals to government, corporate foundations, and private funding prospects and ensuring grant compliance and on-time reporting. The Manager is expected to work collaboratively to secure funding to advance the mission of the College and in support of the strategic plan and initiatives on campus.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience of demonstrated success in grant writing and management as well as a proven track record of securing funding from foundation and government sources are all required. Extensive knowledge of research methods and grant administration for federal and state requirements and application of evidence-based practices for proposals is strongly preferred, as well as proven success with collecting, identifying, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data necessary for grant writing and reporting. Familiarity with financial budgeting and analysis related to grant management, development of work plan models, and applicable systems and databases is also preferred. Job Title: Staff Accountant

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized individual to serve as Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is an integral member of the financial team. Responsibilities include assisting with maintaining the College’s general ledger and accounting records, monthly reconciliation of the Colleges endowment and endowed funds, and ensuring the accuracy, validity and completeness of all financial transactions. The Staff Accountant also processes all requests for payment and generates disbursements on a weekly schedule, researches and resolves A/P problems on a timely basis, assists with month and year-end close processes, with the preparation of schedules necessary for the year-end audit and reviews and posts all procurement card expense reports. The Staff Accountant also assures compliance with the College’s accounting policies and practices are in accordance with GAAP.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; experience in a non-profit or higher education preferred. Job Title: Laboratory Manager - Biology and Chemistry

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Laboratory Manager to provide laboratory support services to our Biology and Chemistry Departments. The Lab Manager purchases chemical and biological supplies, interfaces with consultants to maintain instrumentation, instructs and assists students in the operation and care of equipment and maintains the departmental budget for supplies, service contracts and maintenance. The Manager also maintains safety information and policies for the departments, conducts annual training sessions to update faculty, staff, and students on current practices, and coordinates chemical waste disposal. The Lab Manager also serves as Department Safety and Chemical Hygiene Officer and is an integral member of the Campus Safety Committee. Additional responsibilities include microbiology media preparation, some laboratory solution preparation, maintenance of bacterial cultures, and supervision of Biology work study students.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry (or related field) with prior experience as a Laboratory Safety Officer or Chemical Hygiene Officer. Job Title: Aquatics Specialist - Rodale Aquatic Center

Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC), located on the campus of Cedar Crest College, is seeking a qualified full time, Aquatics Specialist to join our busy center dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness by providing educational opportunities to the campus and to the larger community, both alone and in cooperation with other organizations that enhance the development of the mind, body and spirit through an array of aquatic classes, integrated with academic topics focused on healthy lifestyles. Job Title: Advancement Services Administrator—Institutional Advancement

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, self-directed individual to serve as Advancement Services Administrator for our Institutional Advancement team. The Administrator accurately maintains the departmental database and coordinates day-to-day database operations for Advancement, including software and technology support and expertise for various integrated systems including Access, Excel, Jenzabar and Infomaker. The Administrator manages the oversight of demographic updates, constituent assignments, gift processing, pledge procedures, report production and data analysis. The Administrator works with the entire Advancement team including all functional areas from Alumnae Affairs to the Cedar Crest Fund, to leadership and planned giving, and to events in an effort to properly record gift agreements, pledge payment schedules, and other necessary data and information. The Administrator prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and documents on financial activities for the Advancement team as well as for audit purposes for the Finance team. Data extracts are used for solicitations, mailings, invitation lists, board reports, and campaign results.

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field required, along with proficiency with applicable technology and computer database management, including Access and Infomaker. Job Title: Network Administrator - Information Technology

Cedar Crest College is seeking a customer focused Network Administrator to maintain and monitor our technology infrastructure, including the wired network, wireless network, cloud-based applications, remote access systems, network applications, servers and disaster recovery. Job Title: CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER
Full-Time and Part-Time Positions

Cedar Crest College has an excellent opportunity for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team! The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week. Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education.

  • Full-time Officer: Night shift (Midnight – 8 AM)
  • Part-time Officers: Must be available for any shift

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferred. Act 235 certification is required. The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to campus community interaction and safety education. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.
