School of Nursing Faculty Positions

Director of Graduate Nursing Programs

The School of Nursing at Cedar Crest College is currently accepting applications for a qualified nursing professional committed to leading the education of graduate level nurses, including nurse practitioners in our newly accredited Doctor of Nursing Practice and nurse practitioner programs (Family and Adult Gerontology Acute Care). The Director will have oversight over all graduate nursing programs including the MSN, DNP, BSN-DNP and PMCs and work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing Programs. Programs include Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator, and Nurse Practitioner tracks.

Our nursing program has a long tradition of excellence in nursing education and the creation of the School of Nursing has allowed us to expand our educational offerings and opportunities for qualified faculty.

This is a full time, 12 month tenure track position with the option of an accelerated path to tenure with prior academic experience. 

Requirements:  The Director should be a DNP prepared nurse practitioner with national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, however, other nursing specialties will be considered. Candidate should also have experience with directing/leading DNP projects and prior experience in a clinical setting as well as experience teaching in a master’s or doctoral nursing program.

Adjunct Faculty

For nursing educators who prefer flexibility in scheduling, applications are also being accepted for adjunct faculty in the following specialties:

School of Adult and Graduate Education
Admissions Advisor

The School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE) at Cedar Crest College seeks a results-oriented, energetic, full-time Admissions Advisor with a commitment to providing quality service for adult learners. Successful candidates will be able to express the value of higher education, for both undergraduate and graduate degrees, for adult learners.

Responsibilities include recruiting for undergraduate and graduate programs, providing admissions counseling for prospective adult students, maintaining a regular communication and outreach to prospective students to meet enrollment goals.  The Admission Advisor represents the College at both on- and off-campus recruiting events, interviews and follows up with candidates for admission, as well as reviews all applications for admission and recommends action regarding admission. Travel is required, and evening and weekend hours are expected.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of one year of experience in recruiting adult students is strongly preferred. Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and planning skills are essential, as are exceptional interpersonal skills and effective time management. Candidates must also have prior experience in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license is required.

Administrative Assistant
Nursing

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, customer focused Administrative Assistant to provide support for our busy School of Nursing. The Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Dean, faculty and staff, serving as the liaison with other administrative offices and for providing student services appropriate to the school function.  The Assistant manages the Dean’s calendar, provides organization and support for compliance with accrediting bodies, maintains and updates faculty and staff files, schedules and coordinates testing, classroom requests, photos and departmental functions, collects and organizes data for Periodic Program Review, and manages faculty compliance with clinical agency requirements. The Assistant also provides support primarily for undergraduate programs and for graduate programs as necessary.   

Minimum of an Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.  The successful Assistant will have prior administrative support experience, excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated success with multi-tasking and successfully handling interruptions and unexpected events are essential. Candidates must be proficient with applicable computer systems and software, including Microsoft office.

Director of Conference Services

Cedar Crest College has an exciting opportunity for an energetic, creative, goal driven professional to serve as Director of Conference Services on our busy campus.  The Director supports both the college’s internal community and our external community through a comprehensive offering of services and programs. The Director provides leadership and direction for scheduling/reservation systems, meal plan billing, design and implementation of a conference services program, general maintenance of the College Center facility, and revenue generating areas of the facility such as the bookstore. The Director also oversees the development of marketing strategies for the College Center and Conference Services and ensures sound fiscal management of all areas in addition to supervising conference service assistants, other support staff and volunteers for various functions on campus.  The Director is also a major provider of logistics and programming for Mayfair Festival of the Arts and is a key member of the Mayfair organizational team. Occasional evening and weekends are required.

Bachelor’s degree in business, higher education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.  Five years of experience in operations management of a student center, conference services or event planning required. Familiarity with higher education scheduling, public relations and marketing strongly preferred.  Qualified candidates will have experience providing exceptional customer service and a demonstrated ability to plan strategically in a dynamic, changing environment.    Excellent communication, team building, and interpersonal skills along with a proven capacity for working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are also necessary for success. Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills are also required, as is a commitment to confidentiality.

Director of Facilities Management

Cedar Crest College is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Management who will be responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of the facilities, including buildings and associated electrical and mechanical systems, utility systems to include water, natural gas and electricity, grounds, streets, sidewalks and athletic facilities.  Responsibilities also include project programming, conceptual design, total project cost estimating, and schedule development, in addition to working closely with College leadership, committees and stakeholders in assessing, qualifying and analyzing campus and facility needs and providing strategic and long term campus and facility planning services. The Director also provides leadership, direction and supervision to facilities and grounds staff and serves as the liaison between the College and outsourced custodial services. The Director reports to the Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer, serves as chair of the College’s safety committee, a member of the sustainability committee and is an ex-officio member of the Facilities and Property Committee of the Board of Trustees.

A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.  A minimum of five years’ experience in the planning, management and operations of capital projects, in addition to successfully leading and motivating staff also required.  Demonstrated success in managing complex, substantial budgets, emergency responses, safety initiatives and multiple projects is essential.   The successful candidate must have exceptional communication and team building skills and be comfortable conducting presentations in an effective manner.  A proven track record of success in a collaborative, diverse environment in addition to proficiency with applicable technology is essential to the position.

Special Events Coordinator
For the Office of Institutional Advancement

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join a fast paced development team. The Special Events Coordinator leads and directs signature fundraising events, stewardship events and cultivation events for the department.

This individual is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and executing all aspects of special events including establishing goals, managing event budgets, planning and executing meetings, soliciting corporate sponsorships/advertisements, negotiating contracts, securing volunteers, and arranging logistical details related to event materials, speakers, catering, facilities, technology and audiovisual equipment. This individual will manage event revenue enhancement initiatives including auctions, raffles and sweepstakes related to event fundraising. The individual will maintain assigned donor/constituent records in the department’s donor database.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter and innovative thinker with strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communications skills along with a positive attitude, good sense of humor and a desire to work in a goal – oriented environment.  A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines is also critical to success. 

A Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience of demonstrated success in a fundraising environment as well as prior experience with proven ability to manage special events from inception through execution are required. Familiarity with donor management systems, web fundraising and social media platforms is strongly preferred. Availability and willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends is required.

Part-Time Campus Police Officer

Must be available for any shift. Prior Campus Police or law enforcement (Act 120) experience preferred. Act 235 certification required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a degree in criminal justice or equivalent experience. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.  The regular schedule will typically be an 8 hour shift and a minimum of 2 days per week. The individual may be required to work days, middles, nights, weekends and holidays, based upon staffing needs. Flexibility of work schedule mandatory.  Hourly rate is $15.00.

Rodale Aquatic Center Positions

The Center currently has the following opportunities available for aquatics professionals:

Part Time Lifeguards

Cedar Crest College’s unique Rodale Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM 
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.

Part Time Fitness / Swim School Instructors

The Rodale Aquatic Center is seeking qualified swim school instructors and certified fitness instructors who will also serve as lifeguards. These positions will organize and instruct water based fitness programs and otherwise assist in assuring the overall safety of the Center. CPR, AED, Lifeguard, and First Aid certification required. Current certification in aquatic exercise or other fitness/aquatic based or personal training strongly preferred.
