Information Literacy Instruction is a service provided by the Cressman Library Information & Instructional Services staff for Cedar Crest faculty.
The Information Literacy Instruction program of the Library is designed to teach effective use of information resources and library services for academic research. The instruction subscribes to the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) standards and is focused on the students' research needs in the context of a particular course assignment, to assist them in making efficient use of Library resources and their time.
A close working relationship between instructor and librarian is essential. There is a considerable amount of information to cover and classes can be adapted to the specific requests of the faculty. It is essential for your students to know prior to the Library class the assignments for which the Library instruction is being given.
Information Literacy Instruction classes may be scheduled by submitting the completed form at least two weeks in advance.
