Cedar Crest College Bringing Back Mayfair Festival of the Arts in 2018
It was a Lehigh Valley tradition for nearly 30 years, and in 2018, Mayfair will be making a comeback. Cedar Crest College is happy to announce that it plans to host the festival on campus over Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27, 2018.
The Mayfair Festival of the Arts was first held in 1987 as a free festival at Allentown’s Cedar Beach Park, but was moved to the Allentown Agri-Plex in recent years. It was announced last year that Mayfair 2017 had been canceled due to a drop in attendance and community support.
Cedar Crest College is planning to take Mayfair back to its roots, bringing festival-goers the same experience they loved decades ago, just steps from where it all began. Cedar Crest College is planning to hold the event on campus, and it will feature food and craft vendors, artists, music and live performances. Admission and on-campus parking will be free.
“Cedar Crest is honored to carry this tradition forward for the Lehigh Valley,” said Lauren Condon, Director of Student Union and Engagement at Cedar Crest. “We are confident that Mayfair at Cedar Crest will become yet another signature event presented by the College for the benefit of the entire community.”
The College’s continuation of the Mayfair tradition is predicated upon approval by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas.
