You are invited to a joint lecture about the history and future of the College featuring Dr. LuAnn McCracken Fletcher, Professor of English, and returning alumna Ms. Heather Cook. Dr. Fletcher will reflect on the College’s passionate history and its progress as a leading women's institution through the door of the liberal arts classroom. Ms. Cook will speak about the possibilities of a Cedar Crest education and the future that lies ahead for the college.

EARTH DAY COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENT

Sustainability is a key initiative for President Meade, and that topic will take center stage during our community Earth Day event. From 4:00 p.m.--6:00 p.m. there will be a number of environmental activities happening on campus, including games, arts and crafts, seed planting, and more. Most events are geared toward elementary-aged children, but all are welcome. Steps of Blaney Hall
The William F. Curtis Arboretum at Cedar Crest College is a nationally registered arboretum with more than 150 species of trees from around the world in individual plantings and gardens. During this guided walking tour, you will learn about types of tree leaves, flowers, fruit, twigs, and bark; the identifying characteristics of different species; and the role of trees in the environment and the history of the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania. Tours last approximately 50-60 minutes.
Hartzel Hall grove
The Autumn Blaze maple tree is being dedicated in honor of the inauguration of Dr. Meade. Known for its brilliant color, fast growth and resiliency during changing seasons, this maple tree mirrors the same characteristics of our own beloved Cedar Crest College. Please join us to celebrate President Meade’s message of passion, progress and possibilities as we add this beautiful tree to our campus arboretum.

Cedar Crest has placed an emphasis on creating vibrancy across campus by renovating buildings and adding facilities to our footprint. On this tour you will have an opportunity to see several newly-renovated spaces including the Student Success Center in the Cressman Library, the Center for Diversity & Inclusion in the Allen House, Canova Commons, Samuels Theatre, the new College Conference Center in the Tompkins College Center, Moore Hall’s first floor lounge and outdoor terrace, and the FalconPlex.

Witness Cedar Crest history as Dr. Elizabeth M. Meade is officially installed as the College’s fourteenth president during this formal ceremony. The board of trustees, local dignitaries and members of the Cedar Crest community will be joined by scholars from across the country to celebrate the passion, progress and possibilities that this moment symbolizes. Limited seating is available and a satellite viewing location will be set up in Alumnae Auditorium to allow for a broader audience to take part in this important inauguration tradition.
Tompkins College Center
Immediately following the Installation Ceremony, guests are invited to attend a reception in the Tompkins College Center to celebrate this momentous occasion! Join us in the Canova Commons and College Conference Center to mix and mingle as you enjoy hors d'oeuvres and other refreshments.
ALUMNAE HALL OF FAME

Join Cedar Crest College for the opening of the Alumnae Hall of Fame in Blaney Hall. The Alumnae Hall of Fame is a program that pays tribute to alumnae who have distinguished themselves in their professional or personal lives and have demonstrated support for Cedar Crest College. This event will feature a presentation of this year’s recipients and the opportunity for attendees to mingle with the inductees and fellow alumnae.

The entire college community is invited to come together to celebrate the presidential inauguration and the end of the academic year at this new CCC tradition! Falcon Fest will feature live music, games, food trucks and much more. Faculty, staff, students and their families are encouraged to join the fun as we celebrate our Falcon pride.

Prepare to be transported to a land of magic and mystery and join us for the inaugural ball held in honor of President Meade’s inauguration. All students on the Cedar Crest College campus are welcome to come witness magicians, mind readers, and other curiosities in the event of the year. The ball is of formal dress and free to all Cedar Crest College students, so come out dressed to your best and join us in Lee’s Hall for a night of delight on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
