Cedar Crest’s Cressman Library is pleased to announce the launch of a new archival preservation and digitization project to expand access to materials from the Cedar Crest College Archives. Over the next two years, the library will organize, preserve, scan, and catalog historical materials that document generations of Cedar Crest students, traditions, and campus life—including event programs, photographs, scrapbooks, letters, and other artifacts.
Select materials from the Alumnae Museum, including decades of reunion schedules, scrapbooks, and programs from campus theatrical and dance productions, were recently rehoused in the Archives and will be among the collections to receive preservation and digitization support.
The project, which began in May, was made possible through a recently awarded Historical & Archival Records Care Grant from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission.
“We are honored to have received this support from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission through the Historical & Archival Records Care Grant Program. This project is about preserving and igniting Cedar Crest’s history within the broader story of Pennsylvania. Our goal is to make collections more accessible for future generations of students, alumnae, and researchers,” said Sara Purifoy, Director of Library Services.
