First Year Student Scholarships

A full-tuition scholarship awarded to one first-year traditional student from Pennsylvania’s Lehigh or Northampton County who is nominated by a counselor or teacher from their high school, and attends and wins the Trailblazer Scholarship Competition**.  Additional scholarship money awarded to finalists.

$45,664* per year; 3.0 GPA required for renewal
*Based on annual full-time tuition fee. Scholarship covers full-time tuition minus any additional grants or outside scholarships and supersedes any other Cedar Crest money.
**Requirements to participate in the competition: must be invited to participate, admitted to Cedar Crest, and have been awarded a Presidential, Trustee or Founder’s Scholarship.

Merit scholarships are awarded to traditional, full-time first-year students based on academic criteria, including but not limited to high school grade point average (GPA), SAT or ACT scores and class rank.

Presidential Scholarship
$25,000 per year, 3.9+ GPA

Trustee Scholarship
$24,000 per year, 3.6 – 3.8 GPA

Founders Scholarship
$23,000 per year, 3.4 – 3.5 GPA

Dean’s Scholarship
$22,000 per year, 3.1 – 3.3 GPA

Fellows Scholarship
$21,000 per year, Below 3.0

Students are eligible to receive a merit scholarship and two additional scholarships only. They must also remain in good academic standing for renewal of any scholarships and awards received.

Awarded to traditional, full-time first-year or transfer Lehigh Valley Latino students in partnership with the Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley. Two applicants are chosen each year. Award is based on record of academic excellence and leadership.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must complete a scholarship application.

GOLD AWARD RECIPIENT
$5,000 per year for up to four years
Must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Awarded to one student that has received their Girl Scout Gold Award in the previous four years and has a high school or college GPA of 3.5 or better.
Applicants are required to provide documentation of receipt of the Gold Award.

GIRL SCOUT INVOLVEMENT
$1,000 per year for up to four years
Must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Awarded to up to five students that have been an active Girl Scout for at least two years in grades 9-12.
Applicants are required to submit a 250 word essay and provide documentation of Girl Scout Membership.

$2,000 per year for up to four years
Must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Awarded to any traditional, full-time first-year student or full time transfer student who was recommended by a Cedar Crest College alumnae/i.

*This award was formerly called the Heritage Award, but was changed to the Heirloom Award to allow all of our alumnae/i to gift a scholarship to any deserving candidate

Heirloom Scholarship Submissions

$2,000 per year for up to four years
Must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Awarded to full-time traditional siblings concurrently enrolled at Cedar Crest during the regular academic year (fall/spring).

Note: for the Heirloom and Sibling Awards, students must notify the Admissions Office prior to their acceptance in order to receive these awards.

$1,500 per year for up to four years;
Must follow department’s criteria for renewal
*Student can receive only one Department Scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded in all academic disciplines: art, biology, business, chemical & physical sciences, communication, criminal justice, dance, education, english, exercise science, forensic science, health science, history, mathematics, nursing, nutrition, political science, psychology, social work, theatre, technical theatre and writing.

Interviews and auditions for each scholarship are held for first-year, full-time traditional students during Explore Your Future Day, January 18, 2025 (seniors only).

Presidential Scholarship
$19,000 per year, 3.5 -4.0 cumulative GPA

Trustee Scholarship
$18,000 per year, 3.0 – 3.49 cumulative GPA

Founders Scholarship
$17,000 per year, 2.5 – 2.99 cumulative GPA

Awarded to full-time transfer students based on their cumulative transfer GPA from all transfer institutions. The Presidential, Trustee, and Founders Scholarships are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status.

Presidential LCCC Scholarship
$21,000 per year, 3.5 – 4.0 cumulative GPA

Trustee LCCC Scholarship
$20,000 per year, 3.0 – 3.49 cumulative GPA

Founders LCCC Scholarship
$19,000 per year, 2.0 – 2.99 cumulative GPA

Awarded to full-time transfer LCCC graduates accepted to Cedar Crest with an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education degree.  The Presidential LCCC, Trustee LCCC, and Founders LCCC Scholarships are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.0 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status.

Presidential NCC Scholarship
$21,000 per year, 3.5 – 4.0 cumulative GPA

Trustee NCC Scholarship
$20,000 per year, 3.0 – 3.49 cumulative GPA

Founders NCC Scholarship
$19,000 per year, 2.0 – 2.99 cumulative GPA

Awarded to full-time transfer NCC graduates accepted to Cedar Crest with an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Applied Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, or Health Sciences. The Presidential NCC, Trustee NCC, and Founders NCC Scholarships are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.0 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status.

Students transferring directly from:

  • Northampton Community College
  • Bucks County Community College

Honors Students:  $21,000 annually

  • must complete an on-campus interview
  • must have 3.5 GPA/24 credits
  • only 15 students from each community college will be selected for this scholarship

Honors Transfer Community College Scholarship is awarded to full-time transfer students and cannot be combined with any other merit scholarship.  Honors Transfer Community College Scholarship is automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 3.5 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status. (Honors students can transfer directly into the Cedar Crest College Honors Program.)

$21,000 per year, issued to members of Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for two-year colleges. To be eligible, the student must have attained a 3.50 GPA and have completed 24 transferable credit hours, and plan to enroll as a traditional full-time student at Cedar Crest College. Proof of induction (certificate of induction) must be submitted prior to matriculation at Cedar Crest College to receive the scholarship.

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation’s top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Each Cooke Scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with the thriving community of fellow Scholars.

Merit-Based Scholarships and Awards for Undergraduate Adult Students

Cedar Crest College recognizes the academic achievements of SAGE transfer students. Students who transfer from a regionally accredited college or university to Cedar Crest College may be eligible to receive a scholarship to pursue a baccalaureate degree.  An unlimited number of scholarships are available. This scholarship may not be combined with any other CCC scholarship.  Transfer students must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for a scholarship:

  • Obtain a final GPA of 3.0 or higher in the most recent 12 college credits completed
  • Enroll as a bachelor degree-seeking, full-time, matriculated student
  • Enroll at Cedar Crest College within three year’s following attendance at the most recent institution
  • Must transfer in a minimum of 12 credits
  • This scholarship is available only during the Fall and Spring semesters
  • Not eligible for NUR courses
  • Official transcripts required for final review
  • Renewal is reviewed at the end of each Spring semester

The Scholarship award will be $250 per semester. To maintain the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

          • Enroll in at least 12 credits per semester at Cedar Crest College
          • Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5

$500 per year, issued to members of Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for two-year colleges. Cedar Crest College recognizes the academic achievements of ABSN Nursing students.  This scholarship provides eligible students with a $2,500 per semester full-time merit award for semesters taken at the ABSN nursing tuition rate.  The estimated value of the scholarship is $10,000 for the ABSN NUR program.  This scholarship may not be combined with any other CCC scholarship or discount and does not apply to students who enter a different NUR program option after commencing the ABSN.  SAGE students must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Accepted into the ABSN Nursing Program
  • Must be full-time in ABSN Nursing Program
  • RN-BSN and BSN students are not eligible
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Renewal is reviewed at the end of each Spring semester
  • Course NUR-328 is not eligible for scholarship

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the largest and oldest national organization of women who are college graduates.  AAUW promotes education and equity for women and girls.
Non-Traditional Female Students’ Scholarship Guidelines:

  • Women applying must be a resident of the Bethlehem Branch AAUW area. (This area includes the City of Bethlehem, Hanover Township, Bethlehem Township, Fountain Hill, Hellertown and Saucon Valley.)
  • Applicant Must:
    • Have had her studies interrupted at some point for at least six months.
    • Have completed the equivalent of two years of college work.
    • Be attending or have been accepted for the Fall term at an accredited four-year college or university for undergraduate work.

Awards range in size from $1,000 to $2,000 per recipient. For more information, inquire at the Student Financial Services office or at https://bethlehem-pa.aauw.net/scholarship-committee/ . Application for Bethlehem Branch AAUW scholarship must be made before March 11th.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) offers Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarships which benefit non-traditional students. Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to: financial need; socially/physically/economically challenged adults; responsible for small children.

The WBC scholarship recognizes adult learners who wish to attend a higher education institution and who have graduated from high school at least one year ago. These women have demonstrated academic ability and a commitment to learning, achievement, and community service. The scholarship assists women in their pursuit of higher education and their desire to assist other young women in reaching their full leadership potential after post-secondary graduation.
