ALEKS Math Assessment
Please complete this step before scheduling your advising appointment so you can build your fall class schedule.*
ALEKS is a web-based placement tool that helps us match you with a math course that best fits your current skill level, so your first semester starts on the right track. Once you start the assessment, it will have you complete up to 25 questions and take about 60 minutes. This is not a pass or fail exam. It is a placement tool, and you may review, practice, and retake it.
You may view the ALEKS instructions and start the assessment here. Use your FalconNet password and username to log in! You’ve received your username and temporary password in an email. Use class code 9GT6X-3U4JL when prompted. ✏️
Schedule your Academic Advising Appointment
Please complete the ALEKS Math Assessment before scheduling your advising appointment so you can build your fall class schedule based on the results of the assessment*
This is where your Cedar Crest journey really begins. Now that you have completed your ALEKS Math Placement Assessment, you are ready to take your next big steps toward becoming an official Cedar Crest student. Next, you will schedule your first academic advising appointment and sign up for pre-orientation. Both of these steps will help you set yourself up for success this fall. 📝
Your advising appointment is a necessary step in beginning your journey at Cedar Crest. Before your advising appointment, be sure to review the First-Year Seminar (FYS) course list. This will help you start thinking about which seminars you’d like to take so you can come prepared to talk through your options with your advisor.
During your one-on-one advising appointment, you will:
- talk about your FYS
- create your fall course schedule with your advisor
- talk about your academic goals and interests and learn more about your intended major or degree path
