Diana Spechler is the author of the novels Who by Fire and Skinny (Harper Perennial) and the New York Times Opinion series Going Off. Her work has appeared in the Guardian, GQ, Washington Post, Esquire, Harper’s, Paris Review Daily, Tin House, Ploughshares, McSweeney’s, Texas Monthly, Saveur, Bon Appétit, and many other publications, with an essay named “Notable” in Best American Essays. Her writing has been included in a number of anthologies, including Indelible in the Hippocampus (McSweeney’s, 2019). Her short story “Reality” has twice been performed by actress Kristen Vangsness on Selected Shorts. An eight-time Moth StorySLAM winner and GrandSLAM champion, she has been featured on the Moth Radio Hour and NPR.
