Dr. Hollie Gibbons is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences and the Graduate Program Director for the Public Health Program. Her research interests include the intersection of social determinants of health and health status and reducing implicit bias in health professions. Dr. Gibbons partners with community organizations to conduct community-based research and community health needs assessments. She has presented at state and national conferences on public health and healthcare topics, including lifestyle medicine interventions, tobacco cessation counseling, mobile HIV testing, and chronic disease prevention and management programs in rural communities. Dr. Gibbons is a member of the American Public Health Association and Pennsylvania Public Health Association. She teaches and advises undergraduate students in the Health Sciences and graduate students in Public Health. Guided by practical application and interprofessional collaboration, Dr. Gibbons empowers students to be a catalyst for change in public health.
