Supporting Student Scholars: Cedar Crest College’s Impactful Giving Tuesday

On Tuesday, November 28, Cedar Crest College participated in Giving Tuesday, an annual global generosity movement meant to support and transform communities for the better. Thanks to an outpouring of support from alumnae/i, donors, and friends, Cedar Crest had our most successful Giving Tuesday ever, raising over $180,000 dollars for the Cedar Crest Fund!

Of course, on a day all about our students, their involvement was all the more meaningful. Students flocked to Tompkins College Center to engage in gratitude activities meant to commemorate the day and show their appreciation. Alongside writing thank you messages for donors, students were prompted to write what makes Cedar Crest special to them on gingko leaves and stick them on a large canvas painting of a gingko tree.

“I could not be more grateful for the incredible support we received from our alumnae/i, parents, friends, faculty, and staff this Giving Tuesday,” says Sherry Rodriguez, Director of Annual Giving. “Our Cedar Crest community showed up to support our students and made an immense impact that was felt throughout campus.”
