- Instructional Coach Endorsement – 12 credits
*Note: These certifications require a teaching certification in any area
Student Teaching at Cedar Crest
For students seeking teacher certification, in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements, a full semester of student teaching must be completed during the final semester of the program. This experience requires full-time, daytime participation during regular school hours. In addition, the program includes several field experiences that must also be completed during school hours.
For students currently working in a school setting (e.g., as paraprofessionals), you may be able to use your current placement to fulfill fieldwork requirements, allowing you to build on your existing experience while advancing your career goals.
In some cases, students who are hired as classroom teachers may have the opportunity to complete both fieldwork and student teaching within their own classroom.
These options are not automatic and are determined on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the Supervisor of Field experiences and Student Teaching to ensure all program and certification requirements are met.
