Library materials may be charged out at the Lending Services desk near the entrance to the library. Reference books, CD-ROMs, and microforms are restricted to use within the library and may circulate only by special permission of the librarian. Non-current issues of periodicals circulate seven days to faculty.

The primary responsibility of Lending Services is to serve the needs of the students, faculty, and staff. Resources are available on a limited basis for other users.

Borrowing privileges are described below.

Students

Photo ID’s may be obtained at Tompkins Center. The barcode on the verso of this card becomes the library borrower card. Students may charge out books for 21 days followed by a 10 day grace period. See the CC CUSTOMS BOOK for specifics regarding use of the collection and fine schedules.

Faculty/Staff

Photo ID’s may be obtained at Tompkins Center. The barcode on the verso of this card becomes your library card. Faculty/staff have a 182 day lending period for books.

Alumnae/i

A Driver’s license, or other photo ID, is necessary to obtain a library card. Alumni have lifetime borrowing privileges. Books may be borrowed for 21 days with no renewal. Fines accrue at the rate of $.05 each day following a 10 day grace period until reaching a $5.00 maximum fine. Transcripts will be held if accounts are outstanding.

Affiliates

Eligible patrons are listed on the Registration Form. A driver’s license, or other photo ID, is necessary to obtain a library card. Books may be borrowed for 21 days with no renewal. Fines are the same as ALUMNI.

LVAIC

Current college ID is required in order to obtain a library card. Patrons in this category have an expiration date of May 15th. Books may be borrowed for 21 days with no renewal.

Community

Members of the community may obtain a library card at the cost of $45.00 per year. A driver’s license, or other photo ID, is necessary to obtain a library card. See “LIBRARY POLICY FOR TOWN BORROWERS” which is available at the Lending Services desk.
